LORRAINE RODRIGUES

OLÁ
Lorraine is an LA-based LGBTQ+ Brazilian filmmaker/photographer born in Germany and raised between Brazil, Italy, and Hong Kong.
After graduating from UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television with a BA in Directing and a Minor in Political Science, she began working as editor, visual researcher and assistant director in narrative, commercial, and documentary productions. From 2015 to 2017, she served as Lead Editor for Market Street Productions.
In 2018, Lorraine co-taught a Women Film Workshop in partnership with Purdue and MTSU at the Kayapo Village of Aukre in the Brazilian Amazon, with the aim of empowering women against local political oppression. This effort led to Lorraine and her teammates being awarded a Nat Geo Grant in 2019 to fund additional equipment and learning opportunities in the Amazon.
Most recently, Lorraine served as Creative Coordinator at Stink Films LA, working extensively alongside directors on commercials, shorts, and music videos. She now works freelance as a writer/director/editor and visual researcher/layout artist. In her spare time, Lorraine enjoys reading, discovering new music, and traveling around the world with her camera.
